San Marino at the 2012 Summer Olympics

San Marino competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's thirteenth appearance in the Summer Olympics, having competed in every edition of the games since 1960, with the exception of the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
San Marino National Olympic Committee ((イタリア語:Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Sammarinese)) sent a total of four athletes to the Games, one man and three women, to compete in their respective sports. For the first time in its Olympic history, San Marino was represented by more female than male athletes. Three San Marino athletes had been granted wild card entries to compete at the Olympics. Trap shooter and only Olympic qualifier Alessandra Perilli was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
San Marino narrowly missed out on its first ever Olympic medal in London. Alessandra Perilli finished second at the final rounds of trap shooting, but ended up in fourth place because of a three-way shoot-out for silver and bronze medals.〔("Olympics-Shooting-Italian Rossi wins women's trap gold" ), Reuters, 4 August 2012〕
